BEHIND THE BRAND

MADMAN was founded in 2022 as a consequence of a period of growth in my life. i was lost and didn’t know where to turn to in life. an extremely strict and abstinent culture of working hard gave me a direction and held me accountable for my own outcome. this is how the term “verrueckt” [german for madman] came to be, as friends started calling me that.

i started sketching designs and printing them on t-shirts, not knowing that this would one day change my life. i was initially just doing it for me, combining my lifelong love for sketching and my passion for gym clothes

soon enough people started asking about the t-shirts i was wearing. they were simple designs - nothing too unusual, but people loved them. so much, that after a while all the gym staff was wearing my t-shirts. i felt honored that people wanted to wear something i designed and at that moment the dream of a clothing brand formed

the distinct logo of madman is much more than just an edgy shape. while on one level, simply showing the two m's of the brand’s name [ one in the foreground and one mirrored in the background ] it also depicts a barb wire barb. this symbol of restriction represents all our fears and limits that we are subject to every day of our lives. they are there to be broken just as barb wire is meant to be cut!

we are at the end of this cycle. the purpose of madman is not to sell clothes; we want to inspire men to find their true nature and give them a direction in life that will not only improve them but society as a whole. madman is targeted to all of those who are willing to push past their human limits to achieve their purpose in life.
